1490 – 1762
KingdomEurope

One of the three breakaway kingdoms formed from the tripartite division of the Kingdom of Georgia (with Kakheti and Imereti), centered on eastern Georgia around Tbilisi; a vassal of successive Iranian dynasties (and briefly the Ottomans) through most of its existence, with intermittent independence especially after 1747.

Merged with the neighboring Kingdom of Kakheti in 1762 through dynastic succession under the Kakhetian branch of the Bagrationi dynasty, forming the Kingdom of Kartli-Kakheti.
