Kingdom of Awsan

A short-lived South Arabian kingdom centered on the Wadi Markha in southwestern Yemen, eventually conquered by the Sabaean kingdom.

Obliterated c. late 7th century BCE by Sabaean king Karib'il Watar, who slaughtered the tribal elite, destroyed the palace and temples of king Muratta, and eliminated Awsan as a political entity for five or six centuries.
