Killaka (Quillacas)

1150 – present
Native nationSouth America

Aymara confederation of Killaka and Asanaque ringing the southeastern shore of Lake Poopó, with colony 'islands' reaching the warm eastern valleys.

Their paramount mallkus, the Colque Guarache, won colonial privileges, but the mita and Toledo's reducciones broke the federation into the parishes of Quillacas, Challapata and the southern Oruro ayllus that persist today.
