Not an ending: the Treaty of Castor Hill in October 1832 gave up the last Kickapoo land east of the Missouri, closing a retreat begun with the Wabash and Illinois cessions of 1809-19. The diaspora that followed is unusually wide — recognised Kickapoo communities now hold land in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and at Nacimiento in Coahuila, Mexico.
