Hindu-Buddhist Javanese kingdom that succeeded Airlangga's division of Kahuripan, famous for its literary golden age and defeated by Ken Arok (founder of Singhasari) in 1222.
Conquered in 1222 CE when Ken Arok (akuwu of Tumapel) defeated King Kertajaya at the Battle of Ganter, subordinating Kediri as a vassal of the new Singhasari kingdom.
