A dynasty founded by Durlabhavardhana c. 625 CE that ruled the Kashmir Valley, reaching its peak under the conqueror-king Lalitaditya Muktapida (r. 724-760) whose campaigns are said to have reached as far as Central Asia and Bengal.
Deposed c. 855 CE when minister Sura and Avantivarman overthrew the last Karkota ruler Utpalapida, founding the Utpala dynasty.
