First Muslim Turkic dynasty to rule Transoxiana, marking permanent Turkic dominance of Central Asia over the Samanids.

Extinguished in 1211–1213 CE: the Eastern Kara-Khanid ended in 1211 through internal revolt, and the Western Kara-Khanid was dissolved by Khwarazmian Shah Muhammad II in 1213 after its ruler supported a Samarkand uprising against Khwarezm.
