Italian colony of Tripolitania and Cyrenaica seized from the Ottomans, lost in WWII.

Italian Libya ended in May 1943 when Allied forces completed the expulsion of Axis forces from North Africa; Italy formally renounced all territorial claims to Libya in the 1947 Paris Peace Treaty, and Libya became independent as a UN-sponsored monarchy on 24 December 1951.
