The chartered fur-trade monopoly that governed Rupert's Land as its de facto government from York Factory, extending its reach to the Pacific coast after absorbing its rival the North West Company in 1821.

Surrendered Rupert's Land to Canada under the 1869 Deed of Surrender (effective 1870); the company itself continued for over 150 years more as a retail and land concern before winding down in 2025.
