Pre-Hittite Bronze Age people of central Anatolia who spoke the non-Indo-European Hattian language and were gradually absorbed by the expanding Hittites.

Gradually absorbed into Hittite political and cultural order between c. 2000 and c. 1700 BCE as Indo-European-speaking Hittites expanded through central Anatolia, with the Hattian population assimilated and their religious traditions incorporated into Hittite religion.
