Hanthawaddy Kingdom

Mon-speaking kingdom of Lower Burma that reached its golden age after the Forty Years' War against Ava, and was the most prosperous post-Pagan state until conquered by Toungoo.

Conquered by the Toungoo dynasty under King Tabinshwehti and general Bayinnaung; Pegu fell in 1539 and the final Hanthawaddy stronghold Martaban surrendered in June 1541, completing the absorption into the First Toungoo Empire.
