CultureEurope

A Chalcolithic tell-building culture of the Lower Danube (Wallachia/Muntenia) known for gold and copper ornaments, forming the Romanian component of the wider Gumelnița-Kodžadermen-Karanovo VI cultural complex.

Collapsed or transformed by c. 3950 BC as part of a broader Chalcolithic breakdown across the Lower Danube, roughly contemporary with the end of the neighboring Varna culture.
