Guambiano (Misak)

The Misak of the high green valleys around Silvia, blue-and-pink ruanas against the cold, who reckon time spiraling like the snail and never let go of their mountain.

Held their autonomy through conquest and republic; in 1980 they launched the modern land recoveries ("recuperación de la tierra") and today some 20,000 Misak hold the Guambía resguardo above Silvia.
