Goryeo

918 – 1392
KingdomAsia

Goryeo reunified the Korean peninsula, achieved the world's first movable metal type printing, and produced exquisite celadon ceramics — while surviving Mongol invasions by becoming a Yuan vassal state.

Goryeo was replaced in 1392 CE when the general Yi Seonggye, who had already seized power after the Retreat from Wihwa Island (1388), deposed the last Goryeo king Gongyang, exiling him to Wonju, and founded the Joseon dynasty.
