Goguryeo was the largest and longest-lived of the Three Kingdoms of Korea, dominating Manchuria and the northern peninsula and repeatedly defeating Chinese Sui and Tang invasions before being finally conquered by the Silla-Tang alliance.
Goguryeo was destroyed in 668 CE when a combined Tang Chinese and Silla alliance besieged and captured the capital Pyongyang; the last Goguryeo king Bojang surrendered in November 668 CE and was taken to China, ending the kingdom.
