Gepids

East Germanic kingdom that emerged from the Hunnic collapse, ruled the Carpathian basin from their capital Sirmium until destroyed by a combined Lombard-Avar assault in 567 CE.

Crushed by the allied Lombards (under Alboin) and Avars (under Bayan I) in 567 CE; the Gepid kingdom was annihilated and absorbed into the Avar Khaganate.
