A new people forged on St. Vincent from Kalinago and shipwrecked or escaped Africans.

After the Second Carib War, ~4,800 were interned on Balliceaux (half died); 2,026 survivors were landed on Roatán on 12 April 1797 — ancestors of the Garifuna of Central America.
