An early medieval Frisian polity on the North Sea coast, mainly in the present-day Netherlands, formed by new settlers (Angles, Saxons, Jutes) who repopulated the region after the ancient Frisii's territory became uninhabitable in the 3rd-5th centuries; ended when King Poppo was defeated by the Franks at the Battle of the Boarn in 734.
Defeated by the Frankish Empire at the Battle of the Boarn in 734; the Franks annexed Frisian lands between the Vlie and Lauwers, with Charlemagne later completing the conquest and imposing the Lex Frisionum.
