Dissolved via the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 25 February 1803, with its right-bank territories transferred to the Margraviate of Baden effective 27 April 1803 and its left-bank lands already ceded to France by the 1801 Treaty of Lunéville, ending over seven centuries of Palatinate sovereignty.
