El Argar

2200 BC – 1550 BC
CultureEurope

Hierarchical Early Bronze Age culture of southeastern Iberia, successor to the Millaran tradition, notable for intramural burial with grave goods marking social stratification.

Collapsed around 1550 BCE when its settlements were depopulated and its characteristic copper-bronze-arsenic metallurgy and social organization disappeared, leaving the region largely abandoned for several centuries.
