Dongye (Eastern Ye)

Korean chiefdom of fishing and farming communities on the northeastern coast of the peninsula, bordered by Goguryeo, Okjeo, and the Chinese Lelang Commandery, described in Chinese chronicles for its distinctive cloth-weaving and hunting culture and its practice of totemic clan taboos.

Never coalesced into a centralized kingdom; gradually absorbed into the expanding kingdom of Goguryeo by the early 5th century AD.
