1078 – 1434
KingdomAsia

The imperial phase of the Eastern Gangas began with Anantavarman Chodaganga (r. 1078-1147), who unified Kalinga and Odisha and moved the capital to Cuttack; built the Jagannath Temple at Puri and the Sun Temple at Konark.

Ended in 1434-35 when the minister Kapilendra usurped the throne, founding the Suryavamsha (Gajapati) dynasty; a lesser Ganga line persisted at Khemundi into the colonial era.
