Dilmun

3200 BC – 500 BC
CivilizationAsia

A Bronze Age Arabian civilization centered on Bahrain that served as the pre-eminent trade hub linking Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley.

Lost its independent identity by the mid-6th century BCE as the name 'Dilmun' fell from use following the Babylonian conquest under Nabonidus (last attested 567 BCE under the king of Babylon); the region was subsequently known as Tylos during the later Hellenistic period under the Seleucid Empire.
