A Middle Bronze Age archaeological culture/pottery tradition of southern England, named after two barrow sites in Dorset. Associated with so-called 'Celtic field' field systems, palisaded cattle enclosures, small roundhouses, and cremation burial in urnfield cemeteries or inserted into pre-existing round barrows.
Archaeologists now regard 'Deverel–Rimbury' as covering numerous disparate local groups sharing pottery traits rather than one homogeneous culture; the tradition gives way to Late Bronze Age Britain toward the end of the 2nd millennium BC.
