937 – 1253
KingdomAsia

Founded by Duan Siping in 937 following the chaotic collapse of Nanzhao and its short-lived successor states, ruling the Yunnan plateau for over three centuries.

Conquered by the Mongols under Kublai Khan in 1253 (part of the campaign to outflank the Southern Song); the Duan family continued to administer the region as hereditary Yuan-dynasty tusi chiefs until the Ming conquest of Yunnan in 1382.
