Descendants of the Mongol amir Chupan (Suldus clan) who had served as Ilkhanid regents; on the Ilkhanate's collapse they took de facto control of Azerbaijan, Arran, and parts of Asia Minor and Mesopotamia while the rival Jalayirids held Baghdad.
