Four-part Nahua confederation on the southeastern shore of Lake Chalco that fiercely resisted Aztec expansion through decades of 'flower wars' before finally falling to Moctezuma I around 1465.

Conquered by the Aztecs c. 1465 (local rulerships restored in 1486 under Tizoc); allied with Spanish conquistadors in 1519 and was made a Spanish corregimiento by 1533.
