Chagatai Khanate

The central Mongol successor khanate stretching from Transoxiana to the Altai, which gradually Islamized and fragmented into successor states including Moghulistan and the Yarkent Khanate.

Divided into the Eastern Chagatai Khanate (Moghulistan) and the western portion conquered by Timur (Tamerlane) in the 1360s–1370s CE; the eastern remnant Moghulistan persisted until the early 16th century, with the last khan defeated by the Shaybanid Uzbeks and Safavids by approximately 1510–1514 CE.
