CultureEurope

A Bronze Age archaeological culture that flourished on the Pontic steppe as an outgrowth of the Yamnaya culture, named for its catacomb-style kurgan burials. Probably Indo-European-speaking; some linguists associate it with Tocharian. Influence has been traced as far as Italy, Greece, and Syria.

Spawned the Multi-cordoned ware culture and was eventually succeeded by the Srubnaya (Timber-Grave) culture.
