DynastyAsia

The Buyid (Buwayhid) Dynasty was a Shi'a Daylamite confederation from the Alborz mountains that effectively controlled the Abbasid Caliphate for over a century, becoming kingmakers of medieval Islam.

Extinguished by the Seljuk Turks in 1055–1062 CE: Seljuk sultan Tughril entered Baghdad in December 1055 and deposed the last Buyid ruler of Iraq, al-Malik al-Rahim, while the final Buyid territories in Khuzestan fell by 1062 CE.
