Celtic La Tene-culture people of Bohemia and Moravia who gave Bohemia its name; a separate branch from the Cisalpine Boii of the Po valley in Italy. Held both Bohemia and, until the Roman conquest of 191 BCE, the Po plain of Cisalpine Gaul.
Displaced/destroyed by the Dacians under Burebista and Germanic Marcomanni migrations around the 1st century BCE-1st century CE; name survives in 'Bohemia'.
