A dynasty of eastern India, several of whose rulers were women, that governed the Toshala region of coastal Odisha from the 8th to 10th centuries after absorbing the territory of the earlier Shailodbhavas.
Declined after a mid-10th-century succession of queens (its last ruler, Dharma Mahadevi, reigned c. 940-950) and was supplanted by the Somavamshi and Bhanja dynasties.
