Bharatpur State (Jat Kingdom)

Hindu Jat kingdom of the Braj country, consolidated by Maharaja Badan Singh of the Sinsinwar clan and raised to its peak by Suraj Mal, whose fort of Lohagarh famously resisted a British siege.

Became a British protectorate by treaty in 1805 (confirmed 1826) and acceded to the Dominion of India in 1948.
