A Turkish Anatolian beylik of disputed (possibly Kipchak) origin, founded by the chieftain Saruhan around 1300 and centered on Manisa in western Anatolia near the Aegean.
Overrun by Bayezid I in 1390, briefly restored after Timur's 1402 defeat of the Ottomans, then finally absorbed when the Ottoman sultan Mehmed I killed the last ruler Hızır and annexed the beylik in 1412.
