Smallest of the five Deccan sultanates, founded by Fathullah Imad-ul-Mulk when he broke from the collapsing Bahmani Sultanate in 1490.
Annexed by the neighboring Ahmadnagar Sultanate in 1574, when Murtaza Nizam Shah invaded, imprisoned, and executed the last Imad Shahi ruler.
