The Basketmaker III period of the ancient Pueblo (Ancestral Puebloan) sequence in the Four Corners region (Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico), marked by pit-house villages, cultivation of maize, beans and squash, turkey husbandry, and the introduction of pottery; Shabik'eschee Village in Chaco Canyon is the defining type site.

Transitioned into the Pueblo I period around 750 CE as settlement patterns and cultural complexity continued to develop in the same region.
