Banswara State (Sisodia)

The southernmost state of Rajputana and the junior Bagar state, split from Dungarpur east of the Mahi under the Sisodia line; its first chief Jagmal defeated the Bhil leader whose village stood on the site of Banswara town, and the state was tributary to Dhar and the Marathas before British protection in 1818.

Acceded to India on 15 August 1947 and merged into Rajasthan on 25 March 1948.
