A prehistoric Bronze-to-Iron-Age culture of the Sakon Nakhon Basin/Khorat Plateau in northeast Thailand, named for the UNESCO World Heritage type site of Ban Chiang, known for red-painted pottery and early independent bronze metallurgy achieved without a militaristic or urbanized state.
The site's occupation continues through the Iron Age; the youngest graves date to roughly 200 AD.
