1200 – 1428
KingdomNorth America

The dominant Tepanec altepetl of the Valley of Mexico, growing from a 13th-century city-state into the regional hegemon under Tezozomoc, ruling the Mexica and other Nahua altepetl as tributaries before the 1428 revolt.

Overthrown in 1428 by the newly formed Mexica–Acolhua–Tepanec (Tlacopan) Triple Alliance under Itzcoatl, ending Tepanec hegemony over the Valley of Mexico and clearing the way for Aztec imperial expansion.
