Ayutthaya Kingdom

The dominant Tai kingdom for four centuries, a major center of Indian Ocean trade that was sacked by Burma in 1767, bringing the kingdom to an end.

Destroyed by the Burmese Konbaung dynasty when King Hsinbyushin's forces besieged and sacked Ayutthaya on 7 April 1767, ending the 417-year-old kingdom and taking 30,000 captives back to Burma.
