Ended when Ur-Nammu of the Third Dynasty of Ur defeated the last Awan king Puzur-Inshushinak c. 2100 BCE; the Awan dynasty, which had ruled Elam and briefly raided Sumer, was replaced by the Shimashki dynasty as the ruling house of Elam.
