The Andean Royal Audiencia of Quito, governing the equatorial sierra, the port of Guayaquil and a vast claimed slice of the upper Amazon.

Shuttled between Peru and New Granada, Quito rose in 1809-1822; Sucre's victory at Pichincha (1822) folded it into Gran Colombia, later becoming Ecuador.
