EmirateAsia

Emirate of the Aal Aidh (Al Aidh) family in the Asir highlands of southwestern Arabia between the Hejaz and Yemen, founded in 1833 with its capital at Abha, which fought repeated wars against Ottoman and Egyptian forces garrisoned in Arabia.

Overtaken by the Ottomans, who made a descendant of the founding line governor of Abha in 1911; the emirate ended in 1919 and Asir was subsequently annexed by Ibn Saud into what became Saudi Arabia.
