Abejas Phase

Late Archaic phase of the Tehuacán Valley sequence marked by permanent river-terrace settlements, split-stitch basketry, and a fast-growing reliance on domesticated maize, beans, and squash.

Transitioned into the Purrón phase (~2300 BC onward) as pottery appeared and the valley moved toward the fully sedentary farming villages of the Formative period.
